Eventually I will stop pretending I’m not going to liveblog this whole thing.

Tonight’s Buffy observation is how weird it is to experience the show for the first time post-Twilight, specifically wrt Buffy/Angel. Like, Angel does some vague Edward Cullen-ing, but he only seems to stalk Buffy while she’s “on duty” (ie, he never shows up at her school during normal school hours and he doesn’t WATCH HER SLEEP) and so far he respects her boundaries and autonomy pretty well. Plus, slayer/vampire is a much more equal relationship than normal human/vampire. I don’t go for it often, but I can dig a brooding angsty dude, especially when the narrative makes fun of it once in a while.

But the similarities between Bella/Edward and Buffy/Angel are just close enough that I have this strong visceral reaction of DO NOT WANT that is conflicting with all my other feels.
